Christ College of Nursing, Jagdalpur, was founded in 20011 by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), with a view to blend sacred and secular education in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh state. CMI is the first indigenous religious congregation for men in India with a membership of more than 2500. It renders service to humanity in educational, social, healthcare and other fields aiming at integral development. From the early decades of 1970s, CMI members have been dedicated to uplifting the lives of people of Bastar region. CMI has been instrumental in establishing the various educational institutions in the region.

Christ College of Nursing is the outcome of the Vision and Mission of the CMI Fathers in Jagdalpur. It is a self-financing religious minority institution for higher education with 250 beds multi specialty parent hospital (MPM Hospital, Jagdalpur) affiliated to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush university of Chhattisgarh, Raipur.
